The day the sky took the stars form me

The day the sky took the stars form me
Draft_1
By: Chase L. Currie

(This poem is about Airy Knoll, a place that I've come to love. I miss the hills, the barn, the people always smiling at me, the thousands of "goods morning" I would get every day, but most of all I miss the porch. The porch was the best spot to sit in the morning or after dinner to think about nothing. I would sit there just looking out over the hills, watching the cows and clouds. How happy I was just sitting there watching cows, drinking my cup of tea or my bottle of beer. I sit there in my dreams or in my mind when life, here, home, gets too hard but I do not sit alone. I always think of the people who I miss so much there with me and God beside. How I long to return to that porch.)

I smile at the rain, during the day,
I sat on the porch watching the blessing waters wash over the hills,
Not only did the trees love the taste of the sky but so did the cows.

I smile, even as the rain lingered around,
Day was soon to end, the giants were soon to go home,
And the dragons would soon sleep again.

I smile, hoping the rain would pass,
Soon it was going to be dark,
Soon the children of Heaven were going to sing for me.

I smile, only for a moment,
Night was next to me,
But the rain took the stars from me.

I smile, the Earth gave them back to me,
A thousands yellow and white fireflies,
Sing and dance just for me.

I smile, sitting on the porch,
In the night, drinking my tea, sitting there even now,

Being in the perfect place to see all of the greatest of God.

(Also, I think am going to post a lot drafts on this blog. So you can see how I work when it comes to writing. So if some posts are bad that is why. I may not have edited them yet.)
