Dear Heaven (poem)

Dear Heaven
Draft_2
By: Chase L. Currie

Dear Heaven,
I look up at you with a smile,
Although, I only believe I can see you in the dark,
I smile, never-the-less,

They said Heaven is made of golden roads,
And white light and warmth of a glowing love,
But I see Heaven beside a full moon in a dark sky,

I reach up, climbing up to the moon,
My foot on the ladder,
And I know I'm losing my mind,

But you see Heaven,
You have some people I want to see,
I want to talk to, over two cups of tea,

So I climb, hoping to reach you,
But I haven't quite made it yet,
I, in the white, haven't found the next step,

So you see Heaven,
And how I hope you can,
I wish to be sitting up there with you,

I want to see like you,
Maybe that far off the ground, I can understand everything I can’t,
Dear Heaven,

I'm coming home . . .soon than later.
